PROFILE

Chorus Girl ran 4 times for former trainer Jamie Osbourne. She is a large imposing filly and physically the type that may just benefit/improve having had a light campaign up until now. Unraced since late 2020 there were obvious questions to ask regarding soundness, however she moves well with no history of injury. Having been heard to make a respiratory noise we quickly opted to have her wind worked on. This was carried out by renowned industry expert Ben Brains. Granted extra time at home to rest and recoup, we are pleased to say Chorus Girl has a fierce appetite for her food and exercise! She is back on the gallops, working well and appears to have greatly benefited for the procedure.

FORM

On debut Chorus Girl ran a respectable race finishing third behind 99 rated The Organiser and future Black Type performer Pearl Glory 103. Both the for mentioned were very useful 2 year old's but the race didn't lack depth. Fourth placed War In Heaven won both his next starts on route to a rating of 83. Fifth placed Zulu Tracker is currently on a 3 race winning sequence with a current rating of 85 and looks firmly on the upgrade.

Chorus Girl's second career run came at Ascot kept to 6F placing third. Race winner Khanjar had the benefit of two previous run put his experience to use. At Ripon, Khanjar made a mockery of an opening handicap mark of 85, readily winning by 3 lengths carrying top weight. Another good run followed in a Newmarket Heritage HC when third. On latest start he readily won a C2 HC at Haydock that has earned him an OR 100. The Ascot 4th 5th 7th & 8th place horses have all record victories. The runner up has a 2 year old pedigree and possibly started handicapping of a stiff mark. The 6th has only ran once since.

On her third Career start Chorus Girl had a tough passage having come from stall 12 of 13 at Wolverhampton. This sharper 6F would have been chalk and cheese compared to the galloping stiffer nature of Salisbury & Ascot. Visually outpaced early, Chorus Girl gave a lot of ground away trapped widest throughout. In theory this fillies only Maiden was calmer waters for Chorus Girl yet the race has produced 6 individual future winners and the first 7 finishers earning peak ratings of 104, 74, 96, 74, 87,81, 76

Given the manner in which Chorus Girl shaped at Wolverhampton it wasn't a surprise to see her stepped up to 7F on her fourth career start at Kempton. Slowly away the filly took a position in a rear in a slowly run contest. Chorus Girl demonstrated she has a gear when making smooth headway but ultimately met traffic exploring a rail route at a time the bunched field weren't slowing down due to the soft early sectionals. Dropped lbs for this effort we like to think Chorus Girl is already on a workable mark.

PEDIGREE

It should be of little surprise that Chorus Girl made 65000 GNS at the 2020 book 1 yearling  Although her dam Lady Lockwood was unraced she was a sibling to 5 horses to have raced. These siblings recorded a combined 18 wins from only 61 races and include the 110 rated Lily's Angel, 109 rated Zurigha and the lightly raced 98 rated Furious. The distaff side of the pedigree boasts a very high winners to runners ratio. Currently there is only one other horse to asses when referencing the "nick score" (progeny that share the same sire & dam sire combination) and further encouragement can be drawn here by the Jessica Harrington trained 2 year old  It's Showtime Baby holding a current rating of 92. Our filly is approaching 16 hands and remains lightly raced. We see no reason why she can't improve as she  strengthens into her frame. She has plenty of her sires hallmarks and whilst Heather Main is particularly adept at improving a horses stamina, we view Chorus Girl as a sprinter.
